Sankofa Natural Spices
How much do I use?
One 5 g sachet seasons one pot. A strip holds 12 sachets, and Pepper strips hold 10. For the 25 g and 50 g packs, use the amount on the pack for your pot size.
Are the blends vegan?
Yes. Every Sankofa blend is vegan and plant-based, including Chicken, Beef and Fish. Those are made for cooking chicken, beef and fish, with no animal ingredients in the blend.
Do they contain allergens?
Every blend is free from the 9 major US food allergens: milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soy and sesame. The full ingredients are on each product page.
Are they halal?
Yes. All Sankofa blends are halal certified.
Is there MSG or salt?
No. There's no MSG and no salt, so you can add salt to your own taste. There are also no preservatives, fillers or artificial colors.
Where are they made?
In Ghana, by GoldCoast Food, Herbs & Spices Limited. Sankofa Natural Spices are registered with the Ghana Food and Drugs Authority, and NMA Foods is their official US distributor.
How should I store them?
Keep them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and use them by the date on the pack.
Which blend should I start with?
Jollof Rice is a good first blend. New to Ghanaian cooking? The Akwaaba Starter Box has six blends for everyday Ghanaian meals.
Orders and shipping
Where do you ship?
Anywhere in the United States. We don't ship outside the US yet.
How long does delivery take?
We pack orders within 1 to 3 business days and ship them with USPS from Dallas–Fort Worth, Texas. Standard shipping takes 5 to 7 business days, and Priority takes 1 to 3.
Is shipping free?
Standard shipping is free on orders over $34.90, and Priority shipping is free on orders over $50. The $34.90 is counted after any discount code.Below $34.90, standard shipping is currently $5.99 for a limited time.
How do I track my order?
Your shipping confirmation email has your USPS tracking number. Allow up to 24 hours for tracking to update.
Do Sankofa bundles save money?
Yes. Each bundle costs less than buying its strips separately, and every bundle includes Ginger & Garlic and Pepper. See the bundles.
Is there a discount on my first order?
Yes. Until October 31, use code WELCOME20 at checkout for 20% off your first order.
Can I return an order?
Because our products are food, all sales are final and we can't accept returns. If your order arrives damaged, wrong or expired, or is lost in the mail, contact us within 7 days of delivery with your order number and a photo, and we'll refund or replace it. Read the refund policy.
Wholesale
Do you sell wholesale?
Yes, to African grocery stores, specialty food shops, restaurants and caterers across the US. The minimum order is 1 case (12 strips) per flavor, and wholesale orders over $500 ship free. See wholesale details.
